  Dan Brown's latest -- the Lost Symbol was pretty entertaining.  I've also heard The Help is good.

  I love the Janet Evonovich books featuring Stephanie Plum.  I think there are like 23 books out in that series?  They are entertaining.

  I just finished the bean trees by barbara kingsolver (and the sequel/prequel - can't remember the name) - they were fabulous! As was her book - the poisonwood bible.
