dry crummies in baby's nose. :-( how to deal with or prevent?

Isabella has started getting a stuffy nose..not mucousy..but more dry and 'rocky' of sorts..hahaha..so its hard to clean her up with the nasal aspirator.  She isn't sick from what I can tell...she just breathes a little harder through her nose...

I usually use the nasal aspirator until I get something lose in there and then I use a q-tip to clean her up.  Any recommendations for preventing this type of stuffy nose?

Baby oil?  humidifier? She has her wellness baby check up in a week..so I will make sure to ask the pedi too.

Ditto. We also put vaseline around her nose at night to help keep the skin nice and moist.

  • One drop of saline solution in each nostril.  Wait a few minutes then aspirate.

Humidifier as well or a warm bath or steam from the shower should help loosen it all up.

This is a bad time for my allergies (mold spores), that combined with the heater cranking dry air, my nose is suffering.  Finding the same for DC.

  • You can also use breast milk to loosen up the mucous. I squirt a few drops in each nostril before I suction. It has antibodies and cells that help fight infection in the mucous membranes.
