How to get car from shop with DS?

My car is ready at the dealership - now, how do I get it?  Do I get the shuttle to come get me, put DS's car seat in shuttle and then put it in the car and come home OR do I wait a little longer, put DS down for a nap, see if I can get someone to come sit here while he's napping and I'm gone?

Blahhhhhh!  :(  It sucks to have no family or friends around to help out!

  • If you can get someone to watch your ds while he naps, that would be my #1 choice! Everything is easier when you don't have to lug a carseat around!!

  • I guess your not trading a car in? We just brought our old car tot he dealer & picked up the new one. Transfered the carseat there.

    What about a cab?

Nope, just had to get something fixed.  The shuttle is free, cab would be $30 or more.  Also, same thing, though...have to transfer car seat a couple of times.

  • I would try to see if someone could watch DS, but could you call them to see if they could drop the car off at your house?

  • I would ask the dealer to have one man drive your car to your house and another follow him and take him back.  Offer to give them some $ for gas.  Maybe even ask if during their lunch break any othere guys would be able to do this...  I've had my dealership deliver my car to me because DD was only a couple weeks old.  They have "runners" for this sort of thing.  GL!

Call and talk to the sales manager. You'd be amazed what dealerships are willing to do when you threaten to take all of your future business elsewhere.
