Please tell me that someone has had success conceiving after ovarian drilling. Bonus points if they also removed a large cyst from INSIDE your ovary as well. All advice is appreciated.
Well, this may not be exactly what you are looking for...but here goes!
I never cycled on my own before seeing the RE. I did several rounds of clomid and injectables with no success. My RE said we can do the surgery or move to IVF. I chose the surgery in the hopes that I could still get pregnant by having sex. I am Catholic and that was important to me. After my ovarian drilling, I cycled on my own! Three times, I believe, but still didn't get pregnant. We tried one more injectable IUI, and that was BFN. After that, I was just done. So we moved to IVF. I got pregnant on the first try.
I really feel like it helped with IVF. I responded so well to the meds and I know that is because of the drilling. So I still had to do IVF, but am happy I had the surgery.
GL!! Let me know if you have any questions about the procedure!
No bonus points for me. But I had ovarian wedge resection (a little more invasive than drilling) among other things in May, conceived in September. I started ovulating only 2 weeks post op. I had never O'd on my own before hand.
PM me if you have any more questions!!
M: 31 DH: 34
Dx: PCOS, Endo, Uterine Septum
Ovarian Wedge Resection - May 2009
BFP #1 - October 2009 = DS
BFP #2 - June 2011 = DD (Total Surprise!)
Tree nut allergy in DS diagnosed 4/2012. Currently working with EI for SPD and possible ASD.
I had it done along with my lap/hyster in the spring, then got my first ever + LH kit the next cycle (which we took off), then got a BFP on our subsequent Femara/injectable/IUI cycle.
