My parents are out of town, so we wanted to wait until we saw them in person over Thanksgiving to tell them our news. I purchased three picture frames for my mom, dad and brother - Grandma & Me, Grandpa & Me, and I (heart) my Uncle. I wrapped them up and said that Santa left early Christmas presents at my house with instructions for everyone to open their gifts together.
When my mom and brother opened the frame, they knew right away and they both had surprised looks and huge smiles on their faces. We all turned to my dad, who was holding up the frame with a puzzled look. He even read "Grandpa & Me" out loud and still didn't get it. My mom yelled, "She's pregnant, John!"
After all the hugs (and my mom stopped crying), my dad said he was looking at the picture of the people that came in the frame and couldn't figure out why I was giving him a picture of some old guy and a baby he didn't know. It was too funny, and I know we'll get a good laugh out of that one for awhile.
Re: My Dad didn't quite get it...
That' so cute... Sometimes Dad's ca be a little slow.
That's how I'd like to tell my parents (they are divorced so I can do it separately). Cute idea and what a great story you got out of it! Congrats!
