I may shoot myself before the night is over

My professors ALL piled on the homework this week.  One prof even had an exam due on TG day.  And seriously, no joke, they've all assigned the most complex lessons and assignments that we've had thus far...THIS WEEK.  Like people really had a ton of time to devote to it all this week.  WTF is wrong with them?!  The best part?  Not one of them is responding to the 20 bazillion questions on the message boards.  Which is extra awesome.  I have one prof who has not answered a SINGLE question that I've asked her.  And they were very legitimate, specific questions.  Another prof just asked me, in response to my questions and failing of an exam, if I tried doing the practice exercises (which I clearly stated I had, and had done very poorly on, in the original email to him).  Gee, thanks.  Worthless profs.  These are online classes...they don't ever see us in person...they can't be bothered to reply to their emails or message boards?  Give.me.a.break.  So glad that I shelled out 5K for these classes.

  • ACK.  I'm sorry...that sucks.  Sounds to me that the profs are slacking b/c of the fact that they don't have the face-to-face contact...they're not really being held "accountable".

What kind of classes are you taking?

  • They're all communication disorder courses.  So, they're pretty labor intensive and not easy.  I'm very disappointed in the classes and the profs.  I plan to fill out the course/prof evaluations accordingly.
  • I know how you feel. I am taking 2 online classes along with 4 classes on campus. The teacher for one of my online ones hasn't answered any of the emails or the message board ones this entire semester. She just puts up our assignments and that's it. I don't even have a clue what my grade is in there.

  • Both of my profs are a month behind on grading. I've completed everything for my reading class, I currently have a 99 in that class, but I have so many ungraded points out, that I could fail the class if I did poorly on the assignments.

My other class is the same damn thing. What's worse, our assignments build on each other, but I never have the two previous projects graded in time for the next project I have to turn in, so if I'm making a mistake, I'm making it on 2-3 projects in a row! My professor is super stingy with her comments too. Dammit, if I turn something in, even if it's perfect, I want feedback! It's perfect because I spent a lot of time on it. If you can't criticize me, then praise me!

I have never been this late in the semester and not known the letter grade I was going to receive, until now. These are also online classes, classes that I have to pay $300 more for than a regular face to face course (which they don't offer for my program anyway).

    I am fed up!

Tonight I reread the rubric for my last project in my classroom management class, somehow I missed that the teacher wants me to provide copies of all my handouts, power points and what not for my weeks worth of detailed lesson plans I'm creating. Ugh. I cracked and bought a big pack of chocolate.

Oh yeah, it's super awesome when you have no idea what's going on with your grade.  In one of my classes it was showing that I was getting an E, and I emailed the prof and asked him to drop me (Since I had been doing REALLY well on the practice exams, but apparently failing the exams), he said "I don't think so."  Nice, eh?  But apparently that prompted him to look at my work, because all of a sudden my exam grades were coming up as A's instead of E's.  ????  I wonder what would've happened if I hadn't said anything about it.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!  Why can they not do their job?!  And why do they feel that they don't have to put in any effort simply because it's an online course?!  I've never had such terrible online profs before.  And I've taken several online courses before this semester.  Apparently, though, there are plenty of bad profs to go around.

I don't know, but I do know my school looks at the teacher evaluation forms, and mine are going to be jam packed this semester.
