Generally short LPs (<10 days) and early LP spotting is what leads to this, as well as m/c's.
Thanks kdodge. I'm still new at charting and my last cycle I had a long enough LP. But I have a continuous problem with spotting randomly during my cycle (though this past cycle I didn't have this problem). I've had tests done, bloodwork, cervix biopsy, etc and my OB/GYN can't figure out why I spot so randomly (though it is typically related to intercourse). The last time we had sex was early Saturday morning and I just did an internal check about 30 minutes ago and I had some blood (not heavy, but definitely there). I also had a little bit of blood after sex as well, but I don't know if this is how I usually am after I had the blood after sex or if this is something unrelated. I did a search about "spotting during luteal phase" and read somewhere about low progesterone...thus my question.
My dr. suspects this because of the length of my period (22-23 days) and possible short luteal phase/not ovulating, so I had the blood test done...she's giving me the results tomorrow.

Sorry, didn't mean to make this so long.
