? J's got an odd rash that suddenly appeared...can you help me identify it?

Ok so we put J down for bed and he was fine.  He's up now and has an odd rash.  He has several patches of red skin, and there are lots of white raised bumps on the red skin.  He's got some on his neck, back, knees, legs, arms, and belly.  Any ideas what it could be?

    Oh and he hasn't had anything new to eat recently, and we haven't changed laundry detergents or soap or anything like that.

    Chic pox vacc lately? Pedi told me that a week to 2 weeks AT would get a slight fever and rash from the vacc. I would watch his fever and see what happens. Maybe some benadryl?

    Hmmm ok now the white bumps are going away, and they just look like red hives.  Do hives start out like this?  

    No chicken pox vaccine recently...the last shots he had was on Oct. 29.

    Thanks for the link.  I think we've determined that it is hives.  I just called the nurse line for our old pediatrician and she gave me some advice to get us through the weekend and suggested that we go ahead and get him in to be seen this week at a local pediatrician.
