We are getting an anklet as well to put in her stocking for Christmas, but I would never never let her sleep with anything around her neck.. whether there was a breakaway clasp or not.
I also read that you should make sure the length is short enough that the child cannot get the necklace into their mouth.. they are not made to be chewed on.
I don't know if an anklet will help with teething since it is so far from the mouth, but it can't hurt.
We have one, and at first we never let her sleep with it but now we do. She has been wearing it for 5 months and she hardly knows it's there. I think she would be more likely to have a problem with strangulation during the day when playing and moving. And I know that the clasp breaks away with the slightest bit of tugging on the necklace.
I have been having DS wear it during naps. I would like to have him wear it at night, as I think many people do keep it on there LO's 24/7. I think it is helping, so the more he wears it the better.

I though it didnt matter where the amber was because its benefits are absorbed through the skin and boosts your immune system to help with inflammation and pain?
I hope it doesnt work better on the neck or I'll be disappointed
i'm a bad mom - Sydney has been sleeping with hers on since she was about 6 months old - we just started taking it off about a week ago and that's only because she asks me too
Re: amber necklace
No way! There is a warning on the Inspired by Finn page that says they shouldnt have it on unless your watching them and not to let them sleep in it.
I ordered my DD an anklet because Im too paranoid of having it around her neck.
