Worst feeling EVER

Ds had to have blood drawn during his 9 month checkup today.  I though shots were bad, I had NO idea how bad this could be.  He looked so betrayed as he lay there in my arms.  Poor guy.  On a positive note he is a healhy 21lbs 4oz and 29 inches and coming along quite nicely.

Re: Worst feeling EVER

  • I know that feeling, DD is being worked up for an adrenal disorder and has to have blood drawn often, its so sad to see.

Glad to know he's healthy a boy!

  • That is the worst. Just in case they're doing a heel stick - they can get it from the arm/hand. It's so much faster.
  • They had to get a full vial, and since he is a chunky baby they had to stick both arms before finally getting a vein.  The poor kid, he looked so betrayed.

  • Poor little guy.  :(

I've actually never seen DD get her blood drawn.  DH did once and he, erm, YELLED at the tech.  He never ever EVER yells.  But our girl was screaming,  the tech kept poking and DH said "STOP! You're torturing her!  What's wrong with you?  Leave her alone NOW!"   Embarrassed  I'm so glad I wasn't there for so many reasons...

(But I have been there for aaaaaalllllllll of her shots.  DH hasn't.  No, I didn't yell at the dr.)

  • i wish they would give warning about this stuff!!  DD had a fingerstick (i wish they would have used her heel, her fingers are SO tiny) and a peebag at her 6 month checkup.  if i had known ahead of time i might have declined the peebag test but they surprised me and i didn't know what to say!!
