If you bottle feed

what does your LO do with their body while you are feeding them?

DD rubs her feet against whatever they can find (arm of a chair, my elbow, a pillow). Her hands: the one against me is still most of the time, sometimes it wiggles; the free hand holds my fingers that are holding the bottle, usually picking at my cuticles!

If I don't keep her nails cut really short, which I haven't been able to do lately, she sometimes makes my fingernail beds bleed!

  • Gracie feeds herself.  It makes me kind of sad.  I miss feeding her!
  • Mine is very wiggly too and likes to be touching something.  Also, she's 11 months old and refuses to feed herself.  I'm sure she can do it, but she won't bother since I'm there.  She won't try the cup either.  It makes me worry about the transition from formula to milk.
  • Yes! The feet thing all the way!

  • lol L picks at my cuticles too!

  • Kenna sometimes rubs her head with her hand. Its so cute. She does it when she's falling asleep while eating. I'm guessing it helps her fall asleep but IDK. Other times she kicks her feet like she's jumping or tries to hold the bottle herself.

  • I don't think bottle feed vs nursing makes a difference really.

DS will do multiple things....grab his feet, take his pointer finger and scratch the back of my hand (he must like how it feels...me, not so much...but I don't stop him LOL), play with his hair (when he's tired). If there's something by his feet...he'll push against it.

True, didn't really think about it I guess. DD never did the cuticle picking stuff til we started bottle feeding! She had very still hands when I nursed!
