My husband and I have been actively ttc since August. We only tried for one month with DD. Anyone else have trouble with conceiving their second? Any tips? THANKS

4 months is hardly anything, particularly if you aren't charting.
2 years, 2 surgeries, 2 clomid fails, 2 IUIs, 1 loss, IVF #1 - 10/25/10 = BFP!, DS is now 3.5yrs!
TTC #2 - 6/12 surgery #3, FET #1 & 1.2 = BFN, 12/2012 FET #2 = BFP! DD is 1.5 yrs!
Surprise! 12/16/14 BFP, loss #2 12/31/14
I can't wait for the "im getting a divorce" post in 5 years or so because your husbands were fed up with your disgusting chair asses from playing on the knot all day and getting fired 4-5 times for not doing any work. you guys are all winners!! ~ Laur929
You'll find that many ladies on here have been trying for many months. It can take a perfectly healthy couple up to a year to conceive. If you hang around this board, you'll find lots of support and advice. Good luck!
Just b/c you got lucky on the first try with the 1st, does not mean it will happen that way again. You need to have realistic expectations. It can take a perfectly healthy couple up to a year to conceive.
I am ttc #2 and on cycle #5. I am thinking I might be out this cycle because my temps are looking kinda similar to last month.... but oh well. It took me 2 months to conceive DD and so I know what you mean by not expecting it to take this long (even though 4 months is not that long). If you don't chart, I would recommend it! It will help you get to know your body a LOT better. Maybe your timing is a little off?!?! And stay on this board.... the girls here are great and have helpful advice to give. GL
YES! With DS we tried for 3 months actively, but I charted for almost a year before. With TTC #2 it's already been twice as long and I feel like I'm an old pro at charting. I did decide this cycle to get some pre-seed and OPKs which I did use with DS. To be honest I thought I was seasoned and educated enough on my CM and temps alone from last time that I wouldn't need them...but alas...we have ordered them up for this and subsequent cycles. It's hard, we held off trying for a long time (longer than intended) because we thought it would take us a similar amount of time with the second. Now the timing of our kids will be well off what we wanted and it's even more frustrating every month. I feel very much for those TTC #1 and struggling, as I do have the blessing of DS...but my hubby and I originally wanted 3...and the older I get the harder these will be on my body so we're pressed for time I believe. i am in the exact same boat...ttc #2 and trying since aug. we also got pregnant with DS on the 1st! anyway, my body seems really messed up (36 and 45 day cycles) and am on cd34 and still no o yet. i would suggest charting (it has helped me know what is going on with my body). just hang in there...when it comes so easily the 1st time around even a few months seems like forever! good luck

Thanks for the reassuring words! I know 4 months isn't long...but it is long when you don't "expect" anything and just hope for the best. Thank you for taking the time out of your days to make me feel better. I wish you all the best of luck with your TTC and have a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday!

I wouldn't consider three to four months of TTC as having a problem. It can take a healthy couple up to a year to conceive.

You only have about a 20% chance of getting pregnant each month.
So each month we all step up and spin the wheel. It can take a normal, healthy couple a year to get pregnant, so don't panic just yet.
