Success after IF

Vacuuming can affect sperm count: Not in our house!

I think I can count on one (maybe two if i stretch it) hand how many times dh has vaccumed in our almost 6 years of marriage! lol.

Any other MFI ladies dispute this?  Big Smile

"A study has found that household chores ? including using a vacuum cleaner or microwave oven ? could reduce a man?s chances of having children.

Researchers exposed male volunteers to electromagnetic fields ? high doses of which are produced by all electrically charged objects, including refrigerators and vacuum cleaners ? and found such exposure could double the risk of having poor-quality sperm.
Fertility expert Dr De-Kun Li said his work provides the first evidence of a link between electrical goods and declining male fertility."

Married on 3.20.2004. It took 30 month, 2 failed adoptions and IVF for our first miracle. We have had 9 foster kids since he was born and started the domestic adoption process when he was 10 month old, we had 4 failed matches in that time. After our daughter was born we brought her home and spent 2 weeks fearing we might lose her because of complications that came up. But Praise God all went through and she is ours forever! Re: Vacuuming can affect sperm count: Not in our house!

  • Well.....DH uses the microwave a lot but I dont even think he knows where I keep the vacuum cleaner...not sure where that leaves this us but I say this is complete BS!
  • Loading the player...
  • my DH actually cleans more than I do - he does all the vacuuming, too... and his sperm count was fine - it was my body that was the problem so i'm not buying this info :)
  • I don't even know where we keep our vacuum. It's 100% Davez on that one.

ga-reat. let's just keep this between us ;-)

  • Not in my house either!  Are any men around the vacuum or microwave THAT much to affect the sperm?  WOW!!

  • DH is BFF with our vacuum.  Hmmm.  It may be true in our house!

  • My husband vacuums at least 3 times a week, for years, and had a very high sperm count.  Feel free to use this evidence to get your husbands to vacuum.

  • DH does all our housework - vacuuming included - but I really don't attribute his low count to that. I'm busted too though so he won't use this as an excuse to get out of doing the work (plus he prefers to do it).

  • No mfi issues here and we're the opposite- I can count on one hand how many times I've used the vacuum since we've been ttc. Dh, on the other hand uses it a a lot.

  • First of all where did you ladies find these husbands that clean!?!?! I am so jealous!

We have MFI and I can tell you it's definitely not from DH vaccuuming too much! LOL! Perhaps the electricity from the computer games he plays!

  • I can honestly say that in the 7 years we've been together, I don't think I've vacuumed 7 times. I highly doubt that's the issue though.
  • Neither DH nor I vacuums as much as we should, but he definitely does more than I do (we have a cleaning lady come 2x a month who does most of it!)...and we do have low morph.  Not telling DH though!
