I have been looking for girl coming home and picture outfits and can not really find anything. Newborn looks so big and preemie looks so small. What do you suggest. Where is the best place to find them?
I agree with the "newborns seem so big, preemies so small". I don't get it either. I can't imagine a babies in preemie...but I could totally see my babies swimming in newborns.
I'm going to bring both sizes and see what works best.
IVF #1 BFN... IVF #2 BFP! TWINS!
Twins born too early at 23 weeks due to incompetent cervix
FET #1, IUI #1, 2, 3, 4 - all BFN
IVF #3 BFP!!! IT'S A BOY! Born July 16th, 2011
FET #2 BFP! Due February 15, 2013
We brought them home in this. I had it in the nb size, however my Mom and Dad had to buy it in preemie and a bunch of clothes in preemie. Mine wore preemie until they were 6 weeks (Sofia) and 8 weeks (Ava). They were also early.
I took both a set of preemie and newborn sleepers to the hospital with me. Turns out preemie were definitely more appropriate. However, one DD had a huge spit up right after she was dressed so she came home in a huge, but dry, newborn sleeper. ;-)
What I learned that I try and pass on is...always have an extra!! :-)

I didn't get them anything fancy- BabyGap less than 7 lb striped onesies w/ matching hat. They looked cute, and the onesies (come in a 3 pack, but short sleeved, it was August...) fit them until they were over 7 lbs too!
Ours wore newborn outfits... fleece pants, onesies, and matching button down fleece sweatshirts. I LOVED them, but they were way too big on them (c: But our LOs were preemies and came home under 5lbs. I would buy one of each!
I just went out and bought a few more preemie outfits. We originally had one each to come home in. Since it is looking like my girls might be coming this week, we got some more as they are only est 51/2 lbs and 17-18 inc each. I don't want them to be swimming in the NB's if they spit or poo all over the 1st set.
my boys were 6lb6oz and 7lb15.6oz and went home in preemie outfits- they fit them really well - not big at all... and not too small- just right (oh, God, I just realized i said a goldilocks thing! haha)
i would get preemie - can't hurt since an 8lb baby would still fit into it- for a week
they were just in some cotton knit sweet pea type outfits from Carters - i don't see the need for something fancy that they will puke or poop on within 1/2 our of getting home

I got it at Macys. I think it was $9.95. They also have it at Nordstrom too.
