The past four years DH and I go to his family's on Christmas Eve (that is when they have always celebrated) and my family's on Christmas day. This year DH has to work on Christmas eve. He'll have only been at the job for three weeks so he will have no vacation time. He is hoping to get off a little early, but isn't sure. I always go to Church for Christmas and mass is at 6. His grandmother pushed the dinner back to 3, not sure why. Anyway, even if we made it for dinner at 3 we would need to leave by 5 in order to be at church by 5:30 to get a seat. There will be about 30 people at the house and it is a small house. I had offered to DH to have his parents, grandparents and a couple of his family that are flying in from California over the Saturday after Christmas. We could do dinner and presents then, that way we could spend some time with them and actually relax and not rush in and out. So, what would you do? We aren't even sure that DH will get off work in time to even go. Things have been really rough with the IL's and some mean things have been said by MIL to DH and myself so that isn't helping the situation, but I am trying to put all this aside because it is DS's first Christmas.
Sorry it was so long and thanks for reading. WWYD? TIA!

Re: WWYD? re:Christmas (a little long)
Not really. They only do one mass and you have to get there almost an hour early because it is so crowded. We do Christmas dinner pretty early so we wouldn't make it where we need to be in time for dinner.
