I know using a used carseat is bad, so we won't use the actual carseat part in the car. But since it's free from freecycle, we figured we would take the snap & go stroller part, and then get rid of the carseat and base. Is this the best plan? The carseat is from 2003, and from what I've read you shouldn't use seats that are more than 5 years old - I assume this applies to both the base and the infant seat. Does anyone ever keep a carseat in the house as an extra place to put the baby, or is that also bad? I know they're not supposed to sleep in it, but what about if you need to just put them down for a minute? Just trying to decide if we should bother keeping the seat at all.
And yes, it's just a single SNG, but I keep hearing how triplet moms need multiple stroller options so I figured that if it was free we should jump on it. We could always get rid of it later if we end up not using it. We could push one in a stroller while each of us wearing another one. ha! I can just see it now...
Re: XP: used Graco SNG & seat from freecycle?
did you get it already? Because our freecycle in this area goes FAST - so there's no time to think about it- if you don't email the person the second it's posted- it's usually gone.
We are very glad to still have our single SNG - i have used it many times - when just one baby needs to go to the doc, taking just one out shopping, etc... it's nice to have - esp when it's free!
We actually got our SNG free, from freecycle! The couple was moving and didn't have room to take it with them- it was only a year old- they also gave us the Graco Snugride + base. We never used the seat- but did put the base in my mom's car in case she ever needed to take DS somewhere (she used it maybe once).
We just kept the seat around in case there was an issue and needed it- we never did.... i'm actually planning to freecycle it soon - cuz it's still in our garage.
yep, my husband is picking it up now! we don't have a ton of storage room, but I figure we'll hang on to all the parts as long as we think we might need them. thanks for the feedback!

Free is always good :-) I hadn't even thought of getting a single but makes total sense.
Just a tip...When you buy your car seats make sure they work w/the frame or vice versa. I was looking to buy a 2006 DSNG on craig's list. I called the 800 number for the DSNG to make sure the carrier/carseats we wanted were compatible with the frame. Turns out the seats were NOT compatible with the frame. It would not work w/the snugride 32 only the 22. Glad I didn't buy it with out finding out.
