How to drop a pump session when I have over-supply?

I EP because LO wouldn't ever latch on.  I have to pump every 3 hours (even at night) or else I'll leak everywhere, but I really want to drop a night pump session.  I don't need the milk at all - I get plenty of milk to keep up my fridge stash, and I have at least 50 oz. in the freezer.  How can I drop a night pump session?  Should I just stop pumping at that time?

  • I have the same problem, but I have about 200 ounces in the freezer! I use to pump every 2-3 hours and I have gradually pushed it back to every 4-5 hours. Now, I can go at least 6 hours overnight or until it gets too painful. It hasn't done anything to my supply and I am still producing more than enough for my DD. I would leak everywhere also, but the breast pads are my best friend. I love the johnson and johnson ones, they stay in place and never leak!

  • I would start by switching from every 3 hours at night to every 4.  Then you can gradually space them out so at one point in the night you are going 5 hours, then 6, then eventually you'll pump right before bed and right when you wake up.

Doing this didn't have any impact on my supply. I have about 500 oz in the freezer...eek
