Babies: 0 - 3 Months

Am I the only one that didn't gush blood everywhere?

I see people say this all the time.  I wore a lot of my own clothes and didn't ruin any of them

People make it sound like pushing a baby out is like a scene from a horror movie, LOL

Re: Am I the only one that didn't gush blood everywhere?

  • Nope. Only time I "gushed" was literally right after delivery when the OB was pressing on my stomach to get everything out. After that it was fine. I even wore my own white underwear the entire time and no casualties.

  • I don't know, but I know I bled all over the floor.

  • I had a heavy flow afterwards, but I was able to wear my own pajamas about 12 hours after I had DS, and then everyday from then.  When I was in the hospital for the 2 days, I wore their heavy pads & all was good!

This too for me. The first trip to the bathroom, I left a big dark trail of blood. DH saw it and was upset, the nurse wouldn't let me look. They were concerned and put me on pitocin again to make sure my uterus was contracting.

  • I leaked blood all over the hospital room floor for the 2 days I spent there. It actually gurgled out of me and ran down my legs, TMI sorry. But as soon as I got home, the bleeding was like a heavy period for a day and then was very light. It's completely gone now.
  • I really thought I was the only one, I had such an easy PP flow, I never really "gushed" I was using always goodnights for 3 days at home then normal flow pads for 2.5 weeks and then panty liners for a few days....now I have no bleeding for the last 3-4 days

  • The only time i got blood everywhere was when I was sleeping and I accidently pulled my IV out... which has nothing to do with my vagina area... so I dont get it either
  • I don't know if it was because I had a CS or not, but I barely bled at all.  Right now (9 days PP) I can wear a liner and be fine for the whole day (of course I'd never wear one for the whole day, but for argument's sake...)
  • I gushed for days...it was like a bad horror movie.
  • I don't recall gushing blood so I guess I probably didn't or I would have noticed!
  • I had a c/s and gushed a lot of clots afterwards...its a good thing the hospital provides diapers...

I wore black yoga pants the entire time in hospital and didnt worry about staining anything!

  • I didn't, either.  Wore my own clothes and didn't ruin anything.  Nor did I gush when I got up from the delivery table.

  • i leaked on me bed sheets in the hospital cause the leak pads would shift... thank goodness i had their disposable undies and didnt wear my own for the first 4 days.  My periods are usually light and that first week has a period on steroids for me.

  • Are you talking about during delivery, after, or PP flow?
  • I wouldn't say that I gushed blood but the first couple of times I stood up after my c-section to go to the bathroom I did leave a trail of blood - and yes it was from my vagina.  It "gushed" then and was enough that the pad didn't "catch" it.  And I wouldn't have wanted to risk getting that blood on my clothes because I wouldn't want to deal with getting the blood out in addition to all the other tasks at home I would have to do (as in, I wouldn't be able to get the stain out until I was home).

  • I was a bloody mess for days, DH called the bathroom a crime scene. I bled WAY more than I anticipated, scared the crap out of me!

  • I bled very little.  I was wearing a panty liner 4 days after my c-section.  I can now go without a pad 2 wks out.

  • Apparently, my delivery really was like a scene from a horror movie!! DH said he was really glad I couldn't see what it looked like down there. I definitely had some heavy bleeding for several days (I had to triple my hospital pads).

  • I lost 2.5 L of blood after my peaceful natural birth, *** hit the fan during stupid placenta delivery.  My mom flew in that day and arrived just as this was happening and they didn't want to let her in the room it was such a crime scene!  (But I knew she could handle it and she did.)

rest of the time- from water breaking til delivery- hardly a drop!  Post was not bad either ironically...not a single leak or anything.
