Babies: 3 - 6 Months

Let's start an official FFFC thread.

And GO!

(I'm really lazy and like having all of them together.)

(This is not mine.  I'll add it to the thread.)

  • (In a teeny tiny voice)  I think finding out the sex of your baby is boring and that using the "we want to be prepared!" excuse is lame.  You don't have to have pink or blue blankets (or sheets or clothes) to be prepared.

  • I'm copying the FFTC I did last night.  Sue me, I can't think of any others.

    1. I have no desire to own a pet.  Sure, I like cats and dogs, but I find them to be a lot of work. I guess I've always been indifferent to pets.  My parents bought a puppy when I was 10 because my brother who was 1 loved dogs.  Then, all of a sudden, it was part of my chores to walk the dog twice a day, feed it twice a day and sometimes pick up poop.  I was like, umm...I never asked for the puppy, why do I have extra chores? Sure, I loved my dog.  But I don't think I could take care of one like it deserves to be.  Not to mention, I don't think I could afford one.

As for cats, they shed and I hate cat litter.

Oh, and a hampster bit me while I was hampster sitting once.

And I hate reptiles.  The freak me out.

    2. I had no pumped milk and I needed time to myself.  I left Jacob with FI and went to eat at subway, buy movie tickets and do some shopping.  It was sooo good.

That meant that Jacob had 4 ounces of formula for the first time before bed.  And it was just because I wanted to go out.

I don't feel guilty.  But I feel guilty that I'm not feeling guilty. kwim?

    3. I didn't shower for 2 and a half days until I finally showered last night.  I was stinky.

I've always had a crush, but I think I have officially fallen in like with you for this comment. Stick out tongue
  • Okay, here it goes:

Before baby I was an animal lover, to the point where we ended up with two dogs by taking them in as strays on a whim.  We had three dogs now  and they have always been my "babies".  However, I find myself now on a a daily basis so.f'n.annoyed at them (their barking, their shedding, their hyper activity inside the house after baby is asleep) and have slightly started to resent their existence.  I know, it's a horrible thing to say, but I work, take care of a household, now have a child and the three dogs to top it off.  It's a lot and I know it's what I signed up for, but geez...end of FFC.

  • I induced at 39 weeks because I was tired of being pregnant and my doctor said I could.  I'd been dilated 3 centimeters for 3 weeks, was having constant Braxton-Hicks and she guesstimated that he weighed about 8 lbs and I'd go quick.  He came within 4 hours of me being checked into the hospital, I only had a 2nd degree epi, and he weighed 9 lb. 4.8 oz.  If I'd waited for my due date, he could have been over 10 pounds and I would probably have needed a c-section (according to my doctor).  I would do it the exact same way with my next baby if the situation were the same.
  • 1.  I think a lot of FFFCs are more AW comments than true confessions.  (I've been guilty of it once or twice)

    2.  I like Twilight but I do not think the books or the movies have any intrinsic quality.  They are both very fun and enjoyable but BECAUSE they are cheesy and trite, not because they were well-written.

  • I don't want my mil to visit for Thanksgiving. I don't want her to hold dd. I don't want her near dd. I don't care to see mil for a long long time. I want to keep my dd away from her. My mom is the only grandma she needs for both grandma things and as a roll model.

  • Sometimes I want to stop BFing so that I don't have to pump at work but then I feel guilty and decide not to.

Also, We are going to DH's aunt's for Thanksgiving, but DS cries when she hold him because she is so loud. In a way, I feel bad but I really don't like her holding him or trying to get all the attention while holding him.

You're so right and I think I'm guilty, too.

I resolve to work on this and be more repentant on FFFC day.  ;)

(in a very loud voice) I totally agree !!! and the really great part about it is when we decide to have #2 if it's a boy everything I have for the early stages is gender neutral

  • I have another:

I really resent my "BFF". She's only visited once and she swears that we need to get together. She live 5 mins away! When she had her baby I visited all the time just to keep her company.

  • DH put on some sympathy baby weight and it hasn't come off yet.  I really want him to get to work losing it, but I don't say anything because I'm a little bossy and I don't want to feel like a nag.  His brother has literally doubled in size since our wedding almost 3 years ago, and I don't want DH to start down that road!  So I just bite my tongue, encouraging him when he takes time to jog and secretly judging him when he eats unhealthy crap.
  • Katie, I hate my cat and want to give him to my cousin.  Is that bad?  He's old and when he gets mad at us he pees on the kitchen floor.  I can't take it!

My FFFC.....  Hmmmm.  I update my Twitter or Facebook status while I'm driving sometimes.  Never while C is in the car, but I still shouldn't do it.  But I do.

    I HAVE CHILDREN.
  • C Mo's confession made me think:

I was pretty thin immediately following Baby D's birth because of all the medical sh!t that went down.  For a few months I actually weighed less than I did pp.  Now I feel like I've gained arse loads of weight back.  And I obsess over it.  And I have skipped meals over it.  And this isn't me.

Ha!  Reminds me of how we didn't want to know, but the tech decided to tell us "Looks like it's a girl!" without asking us or any warning at all!  I started crying and she asked me "Oh, did you want a boy?"

I feel the same way towards my 2 dogs.  DH always said that "things would change" once DS came.  Well, he was right.  Even though I HATE to admit it.  Hmm

  • Okay, here's mine:

My in-laws annoy the hell out of me!  I know, I know, not a great confession, but the thing is that DH's parents are the nicest people I know.  I have absolutely nothing to complain about.  I really have no explanation for it at all.  I think it's that our parents live in the same town and when we visit, I just want to stay at my house and visit with my family.  I don't let the annoyance show, I just wish it weren't there.

  • I love my DH so much.  But I'm secretly happy he's going deer hunting this weekend.  I love being home alone with DS.  I can eat take-out, watch whatever I want on tv, sleep in the middle of our King sized bed.  AHHH!  Big Smile

Me too - minus the pumping.  And I'm trying to get Britney Spears' "If You Seek Amy" out of my head so I'm singing the Oscar Meyer weiner song at my desk.

  • I agree you don't need to know the sex of the baby to be prepared...

    Here is mine

I HATE that stores ask you to donate when you pay- hate it.  It makes me feel awful to say no  "do you want to help children?,  "do you want to help homeless pets?" "do you want to help feed 3rd world countries?"  Who the heck wants to answer no to those questions?

Of course I believe in charity, and we donate and give on our own-  I hate that every time I buy something I have to say yes or no-  and depending on my mood I am guilted into saying yes or feel like a jerk for saying No, I don't want to help children.  And I realize this is a great thing b/c it raises more money b/c of the guilt factor-  but it still really annoys me.

Yeeeeah....we have a cat we used to worship.  Ever since DD was born, she has become WAY more needy (because we pay WAY less attention to her).  She starts meowing at us the SECOND we wake up.  She is constantly under our feet and rubbing our legs.  It actually makes me feel really guilty.  I do love my kitty....I'm just kinda sick of her.

I am known among friends as the 'crazy cat lady' because we have 4 cats and used to foster kittens as well. When one of our cats gets angry, she pees on the BED - right in the same spot every time (where DH sleeps). We have a waterproof pad - but this week I was washing the sheets and she got med for some strange reason and she crapped right on the mattress!!! I almost threw her right out the door.
