Cross eyes (surgery)

Anyone's LO have surgery for this?  My 6 month old daughter had a dr's appointment today and they told me she will need surgery to correct it.  I'm ok with this....but of course when I get home I read on the internet.

What I'm reading is it will correct the cosmetic aspect of the problem, but not her vision.  It also says it could require several surgerys for it to "take".....anyone hear this?  Any input? Thanks!!

    I'm not a mom of multiples but your post caught my attention.  I was actually born with "cross eyes" due to the muscles in both of my eyes being too long.  This was many years ago, but I had four corrective surgeries beginning at six months and the final one at 4 years old.  I have perfect vision.  Occasionally, when I'm overtired my weaker eye will dip inward.  I hope this helps and if you have any questions just let me know!
