Baby boys - to cut or not to cut?

I know this is a touchy issue with some, but I am just curious- If you are having a baby boy are you circumcising him? This is my 3rd son, but DH first child. My other boys from a previous relationship are not cut, and thankfully DH agreed that this one won't be either- even though his son won't "be like him"....

we will be having ours circumcised. i didnt really think about it at all until one day DH said 'we are going to do that right?' so we talked about it a little bit and decided we were.

Like the other posters, I pretty much let DH make the decision on this one. Our baby boy will be cut.

We are but I dont think I could handle being in the room neither can DH so we have already told DH's mom she will have to go in with him!

Some people think of it as unnecessary and painful. Others choose not to because of religious or personal beliefs.

My husband is circumcised, but feels even more strongly about not having our son circumcised than I do. I don't mention it to people usually because people have such violent reactions about such a personal decision... I don't care if you circumcise your son, why do you care if I don't circumcise mine?

We decided not to because we did a lot of research and the surgery is only cosmetic. My first son is, but my husband is not.

Since I don't have the penis, I let DH make the decision. But it's rarely done here in the UK on routine anyway, so LO will not be. Touchy topic...but I am in the camp that it's a personal choice and would respect either side.

We did not circ. Our midwife and pediatrician both said it's not medically necessary, and we don't feel that it's our right to have part of his genitals cut off for cosmetic reasons. If he wants to have it done later, that's his decision.

If LO is a boy we will - I left it up to DH and this is what he decided. I did tell him that he will be the one taking him in though, I would feel too bad.

We will be getting our son circ'd. Sadly our insurance doesn't cover it so he will get it done in the pedi's office 2 days after he is born.

this. Both of us felt guilty about doing it, and that was reason enough NOT to. To be "like daddy" wasn't enough of a reason.

I think you're making the right choice. Imagine being the only boy of 3 that is cut, you'd get hell FOREVER. My DH isn't cut and we are not having our son(s) circumscribed.
