I am so confused about baby clothes.
On Kohl's website I found the following suggestion for what to purchase
| Gowns | 4 to 6 |
| Bodysuits | 9 to 12 |
| Sleepers | 4 to 6 |
| Side Snap Shirts | 4 to 6 |
Would you recommend buying the following list for both 0-3 & 3-6 months. Also is there a size smaller than 0-3 that my son will need first?
Thanks for your help!
Re: Baby Clothes-Question from 3rd Tri
That seems like a lot of gowns. I would say more like 1-2. Also, we only used 1 side-snapped shirt one time. I hate how it rode up and exposed his belly.
As far as newborn size, it will just depend on how big LO is at birth. I bought a few things from Carters (no time limit on return policy) and left the tags on until after he was born.
It really depends on preference. We almost always have DS in a sleeper, so for us I'd want about 10-12 of those and I'd skip the rest
ETA: There is a newborn size that is smaller than 0-3. My son is still in newborn size, but he was less than 6 lbs at birth

depends on how much you want to do laundry.
DD wore gowns at first when she didn't wiggle her feet out of them.
newborn is smaller. DD was in newborn stuff (except for gerber brand, because they run reeaaalllyy small) until about 1 month. she was 7lbs, 8oz. at birth.
also, i hate the side snap shirts. you will forever be pulling them down over their belly.
when she outgrew the gowns and started moving a lot, we went to sleep sacks with a onesie underneath, because sleepers with 60bajillion snaps and sleep deprivation are not a good mix.
My DS was 10lbs 3oz and 22.5in long so newborn didn't fit at all. He didn't even fit in his "take me home" outfit. DH had to run home and bring something else to the hospital. My biggest mistake was washing everything before I delivered. I would wash only enough to get you through the first couple of days. Keep the tags on the rest 'cause you never know.
Snap shirts are the worst thing ever, don't bother.
Onsies/body suits I would say 12-14 (I put them under everything)
Sleepers I would say 6-7
Gowns are great for middle of the night diaper changes. We have 7.
I went by the fact that if worse came to worse, I wouldn't have to do laundry for a week.
DS is still in NB size sleepers and he was 7lbs 13oz at birth. The 3 month size ones are way too big.
We went through probably 4-5 changes of clothes per day for about a week because the NB diapers leaked. We couldn't figure out why they were leaking, but when we moved to size 1 it stopped. Now he goes in a sleeper/gown at night and then when he gets up after his morning nap we change him into his clothes/sleeper for the day and then back to the same sleeper/gown at night.
I would probably have 2-3 gowns and 10 sleepers - just so if you don't get around to doing laundry you have a few extra.
