I had a cervix check this week (3.4) with my peri. They said they stop doing them at 30 weeks so that was my last one. It feels like its too soon to stop checking. When did your peri stop measuring your cervix?
I'm not as far along as you are yet, but at my last appointment, when they did my first cervix check, my doctor said she would be doing them every time now going forward. So I didn't get the impression that they ever stopped. But the more I read here, the more I realize how different doctors are... I'm curious to read responses from others.
They told me that if they could they would stop labor until about 33/34 weeks. I never asked by I wonder if they stop at 30 weeks because they told my after my 28 week point that I should celebrate because it meant viability.
One doctor said that they would be happy if I made it to 34 weeks to deliver.
I actually made it to 38 weeks.
That sounds like a good number, I mean you can be dialted for some time before you actually deliver.
Depends on your dr. I never had u/s cervical exams but had manual exams every visit starting at 16 weeks til I delivered at 36. this is not the norm but just how my OB practices. I didn't see a peri except for my 18 wk u/s.
I'm not sure that my peri was doing them at all. If they did, they didn't mention anything. The only time he mentioned my cervix was when they were watching for placenta previa.

At my last U/S on Monday we decided to skip the trans vag since I was 34.5w and we already knew I was dilating. My OB's been doing internals for about 2m though (when I told him that I started having a ton of BH's). He'll continue to do internals until I deliver.
Re: When did you stop cervix checks?
It was 30 weeks for me also.

Good Luck!
