Donovan is our boy name (if/when we have one). I don't like thew nn Don and if we do choose to use a nn it will be Van (like from the old show Reba).

My mom dated a guy named Donovan (Don for short). The only weird part was that my moms name is Dawn... I love the name though.

I think this is a nice name, though it's nms. I kind of know what you mean about nicknames, though. When I lived in the Midwest everyone was called by a nickname, whether they wanted it or not; usually just the first syllable of their fn. Do they live in the Midwest? He might end up as Don.. But that's nice, too.

I live in the Midwest, but don't notice everyone having a nn. I personally don't like them.

My cousin is Donovan... he goes by Donovan. I think his friends at school call him D. It's a nice name... nothing weird about it.

I'm not personally a fan of the name and I hate nicknames. I would assume that he'll go by Donovan. Or maybe Van. Van is better than Don if you have to use a nn.
