Hi Everyone

Hi everyone! I am new to the board - and the Bump.

I have a 2 1/2 year old daughter and am expecting my second child in June.

I would like to ask for your recommendations on baby wraps. For my daughter, I had a Baby Bjorn and hated it. It was uncomfortable for me one she hit 5 or 6 months. It was also then uncomfortable for her.

This time around, I think I would like to go with either a Moby or Sleepy. They are the ones in my price range. Which one do you think is better? I like the idea of the Moby UV - especially since my baby will be born right before summer.

I was also looking at the Balboa sling, but it seems a wrap would be a better investment since it is more versatile and can be used longer.

Thoughts?

Thanks and it will be nice to get to know you all!

Re: Hi Everyone

  • Hi! I, too bought the Bjorn, and we hated it also. My DH will  use it more than I would but it really hurt my shoulders!

My sister gave me he Moby, she hated that when her daughter was born and we love it! It's the most comfortable too me. We just started doing the hip hold so I can get stuff done around the house without my DS kicking everything in sight when he's on me!

We are taking her Ergo until her 2nd child is ready for it. I am also looking into a Mai Tai of sorts when the weather gets better.

  • Welcome!

I don't know anything about the Balboa, but have an Ergo that I love-  they're great if you're looking for an investment type piece.

I also own a moby UV, and while the moby format was great for when LO was small, I think the UV was a bit of a waste (even for my june baby).  If the sun was out, it was pretty much *too hot* to wear DS in the wrap anyway.

If I had it to do over again, I would have opted for a regular moby (or even a DIY)-- It's gotten a lot of indoor use over the last four months, and it would have been nice to have a prettier color.

Whichever way you decide, a stretchy wrap is a great starting choice-- Good luck (& Congratulations)!

  • Thanks for the recs ladies!
