There was a March of Dimes piece on the local news talking about pre-term birth.  A rep for the March of Dimes said that 1 in 5 pregnant women still smoke.  I can't believe that!  Doesn't that seem ridiculously high?  Maybe they meant that of women who smoked before pregnancy, 1 in 5 still do.  Anyway, this post has no point, just thought I'd share. Smile

    That's like 20%! I don't know if I believe that, but I do see far more pregnant women  smoking than I'd like to :(

    I've read 1 out of 12 (Fit Pregnancy mag) as a national average. Which is still a lot. 

    Women in my city are 61% more likely than the average to smoke during pg!!

    I googled the overall smoking rate in the US, and the answer I got was 21%.  Some women who smoke must quit while pg, so 20% might be a bit high--or the stat was rounded up to make it easier to repeat.

    It would not surprise me if this was true. I see way too many pg women smoking-and a lot of teens too-plus, are they counting cigs, or other stuff too? Just sayin...there are a lot of irresponsible people out there.

    Sadly, 1 out of the 5 girls in my family that are or have been pregnant smoked... My older sister.  And she is a nurse! MORON!!!!

    I was at a party a couple years ago and saw a pregnant girl smoking WEED! I just about died.

    Ryan's ex-girlfriend has had 2 babies in the past 2 years and smoked with both... stupid b!tch. Why are the dumb ones always so fertile??

    Smoking is just so nasty period.  I can't even imagine how someone could do it pregnant.
