Elevated sleeping?

How do you have LO sleep when congested?  I know it is best to have their head elevated.  But she rolls around in the crib, so it's not like I can really elevate the head of the crib.  Every morning she is all turned around as it is.  Do you just have them sleep in the bouncer or swing?

I've read posts about the Nap Nanny.  But for the cost $$$  -  $130  -  and I can't even tell how big babies can sleep in it so I don't know how long it can be used.

DD is not sick now, but I know it is only a matter of time...

Re: Elevated sleeping?

  • Tess had a cold/congestion for almost 3 weeks and she slept in her bouncer.  The pediatrician said she could have slept in the car seat too, but I felt weird about that for some reason.

  • G was always a pretty stationary sleeper so I was able to elevate her crib slightly with a towel rolled under the matress.  Actually it was only when I elevated her crib and layed her down slightley crooked that i would find her awake at the bottom of the hill :(

Someone did give me this bc they thought she might like to sleep on her side (we had a really hard time getting her to sleep in the crib) https://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=4645524&sourceid=1500000000000003260330&ci_src=14110944&ci_sku=4645524 I never ended up using it and I don't know if there are safety concerns but maybe something like it would help keep her in place?

Some people swear by a humidifier.  Maybe that will help when the time comes.

  • We used the sleep positioner orangeluck mentioned (Em was getting a flat spot on the back of her head) and it should help keep her in place.  Emily didn't mind sleeping with it.
  • We used a sleep positioner, but it didn't look like that one though, it was a lot smaller.
