Pottery Barn. Is it worth the extra money?

I am in love with the cribs and furniture from Pottery Barn. I was hoping to read reviews on their website but it appears they don't offer them. I am interested in the 3-1 cribs. Has anyone purchased from Pottery Barn, if so do you?recommend?it?

  • I don't have a set from there but can speak for one of my good friends.  For her first she went all out and only got the best (or most expensive) of everything...including all furniture from PBK.  She is now pregnant with #2 and her furniture came from Target...she is just as happy with it.

I did get our bedding from PBK and am very happy with the quality of it!

  • I've heard great things about their bedding and accessories but, have a couple of friends who were very unhappy with the quality of the their furniture (and the customer service).

  • The cribs are not well made. if you go to the store you can see the construction and they are pretty flimsy for the price. baby bargains does not really give them a good rating either.

My furniture is all from pottery barn and very sturdy and durable yet I was not happy at all with the construction of the pottery barn kids furniture. It is way overpriced for the quality for sure.

The bedding is good quality and def worth the money.

  • No. I had PB furniture for my now 5 year old DD. Between moving and her it was destroyed in 3 years. My bedroom set is from PB but it seems like much better quality than my daughters set.

We bought a crib from ikea for our second DD and it's held up much better at about 1/8 of the price.

  • I didn't think so - I really wanted their crib until I saw it in the store in person. I ended up getting a Stanley Young America crib instead - I suggest either them or Munire if you want a good quality for about the same price.
  • A good friend of mine has an entire nursery of PBK furniture and I think the quality of my JCPenny furniture is better....just my opinion.  :)
  • My friend has PBK crib/dresser, and we got ours from the brand Cocoon.  And when I compared the quality it's obvious that for a little less money and free shipping I got far better quality. We've even talked about it. PBK has beautiful things, I just don't know if their furniture is worth the $$$ and the high shipping rates.
  • I was loving the PBK furniture (and decor) I saw online, but I just got the Baby Bargains book and they give it a terrible rating. The cribs are not high quality and apparently they don't put elastic all the way around their sheets (which I'm just going to sew in because I love one of the bedding sets). So I'm going to definitely shop around.

  • Go look at it in person. That is what did it for me. I had my heart set on the Larkin crib and once I saw it in the store I knew I could find better for 1K.

The bedding and accessories are great imo.

This.. My cousin got both Crib furniture and Crib set for her baby boy.. The Crib wasn't well made, but the quality of the bedding was great..

  • Their bedding is worth it, but the furniture is not, in my experience.

  • I have the Kendall crib, and I am very happy with the quality and the price. $399 with no shipping fee charged. That is the special they have right now on the Kendall crib only, I believe. I compared some different brands at BRU and PBK, and the crib I have was much better quality for the price than those at BRU. You have to be able to go in person and see what each looks like, I would never buy anything I couldn't see in person first. I also have the French Rose blue crib bedding, and I am very hapy with it as well.
