When do preemies start teething - their biological age or their adjusted age? Lily has been acting fussy and off for a few days and a lot of my mommy friends say it sounds like teething. She's almost 5 months biologically but less than 2 months adjusted. Thanks!

Re: Preemies and teething
I imagine it would be adjusted...
Honestly I wouldn't worry. My son was an early teether at 9 mos, so you should still have time.
I swear to you, Robbie started teething about 4 months. Drooling, chewing, you could see the teeth under the skin. Know when they came through? A week before his first b-day. It's a two stage process- first the buds drop in, then they have to work through the skin. The process can happen REALLY early and you may or may not see teeth soon.

ok, my preemie, in addition to being the tallest preemie ever (he was way above the growth chart at his NICU follow-up, making him taller than 100% of babies, which DH of course took to mean he was the tallest preemie baby ever
) also developed teeth WAY earlier than any other baby, preemie or not, that i know.
he started drooling and the whatnot at his 4 month appointment and had 8, yes, 8 teeth by the time he was 9 months old (and it might have been before, i can't remember)!
Skylar started to show signs of teething about 3months were now 10months and still no teeth
My LO loved her Sophie with a passion. They are just so easy to hold on to and soft on their gums. Give it a whirl.
this for us too. it took 5 months for the little suckers to finally pop through. he was 8 months ( 6 1/2 adjusted).
Amaya has been starting to act like her gums are bothering her about a month ago, at 3 months adjusted. No signs of teeth, though, and probably not for a while.
What's Lily doing when she's acting fussy? I sometimes get the feeling that many moms of normal "easy" term babies seem to be blaming any and all fussing on teething, it seems
Our LOs were still very fussy at your LOs age (still are, actually). That probably doesn't help, but at least you're not alone
