Tommy: Two, four, niner, five, six, seven... Richard Hayden: I can't hear you, you're trailing off and did I catch a niner in there? Were you calling from a walkie-talkie?
This was the first thing I thought of. I don't like it for a name at all.
It would be original but the same time not many people are naming their children with very original names anymore so I don't think he would stand out too bad.
And I can't stress that eye roll enough.
A) Niner doesn't sound cool
Niner won't make your kid more "original" or "unique"
I never comment on people's possible name options if I haven't anything nice to say about them, but please...for the love of all that is holy...do NOT name your child "Niner"!
You know my husband laughed because he works on radios all day. That is a specific language air traffic controllers use to make sure that numbers do not get relayed wrong over a radio!
I think about the Vietnam movies where the person is yelling, "alpha charlie tree niner!!!!! Do you hear me?" which btw means AC39. There is much better names from the phonetic alphabet that you can use: i.e the letter J is Juliet or M is Mike or R is Romeo.

C) WTF are you thinking?
Okay a lot of you posted pretty snarky comments but this is just really rude! I'm still an emotional pregnant woman and this upset me. I laughed at all of the possible nick names and those were funny but no need for this much snark! Shouldn't have opened myself up for it I guess. I get it bad name, if you read my first response at the bottom of the first page I said we would not be considering it. Honestly I like plain old style names and most of the names posted on here I think are horrible but I keep my mouth shut. I just wanted to get opinions since my husband liked it. Bad name, I get the point! No need to be rude or snarky! Thanks!

This! It's the first thing that popped into my head. I honestly can't imagine naming my child Niner. Jack is so much more appropriate.
Don't worry about it! Its not like you're actually going to use it!
Thank you! I'm really trying not to and I know it's just the hormones but I am just so darn emotional lately! I am either laughing so hard I'm going to pee myself or crying over something really dumb I know I shouldn't care about!

My DH wanted Jack too but we compromised on Jackson! Um, Niner reminds me of Nooner so i don't really like it but to each his own! I hope you both can compromise on a name! Good luck!
Keeping my fingers crossed for my BFP Buddy STL34!!!

Yeah this post is getting a little harsh. I think everyone gets the picture. Don't worry, I'm sure you'll name the baby something that both you and your husband LOVE!
I'm Indian and my DH is American, so a lot of the Indian names I come up with mean something different when pronounced with an American accent so I've got some similar responses! (BTW, Naina is a pretty common South Asian name for a girl!)
Honestly, stop reading this post! Hope you feel better about this!
Re: WDYT of the name Niner
Breaker breaker one niner.
..this is what everyone will be saying to him all throughout his life, would get old..

You do not name a child JACK. It is a diminitive for the name JOHN.
And NINER is not a name.
Cheez Louise -- what the hell is your dumbassed husband THINKING?????
This is so he will sound KINDA COOL???
LOL! This is what came to mind first. I like different names but this one is just bad.
