My blood pressure is normally around 80's/50's or 90's/60's. It was like this before I got pregnant too. I've always had lower pressure.
Yesterday at my MIL's on her home monitor it was 119/79. Would this be considered high for me, even thought it's in the normal range?
The reason I ask is because with all the swelling I've had recently, especially in my right ankle/foot only, they never checked my blood pressure yesterday at the doctor's when I had the doppler done to check for clots(there weren't any). My pressure was 90's/60's on Thursday at my OB's office.
I thought swelling+high blood pressure can be bad. Should I just stop worrying about it? WWYD?
Re: Probably dumb question about blood pressure
I would call just to be on the safe side.
Because like you said, that's high for you, despite being in the normal range. Generally if there's an increase of 10-15% or more above your baseline, that could be considered elevated. Though there are generally accepted levels of BP, it really is all relative. If someone that normally had high BP (150s/90s) had a reading of 90/60, they'd probably be passing out--even though that's "normal" to you.
Good luck!
Agreed with the PP about calling to be safe, but hopefully it's nothing. My BP is similarly low EXCEPT when I take it at pharmacies or on electric machines. It is almost always in the 120/70 range on electric machines and consistently low when taken "by hand".
In short ... don't worry too much, but calling is probably good any time there is a concern about the health of your little one (and you at this point).
That's not a dumb question!
I would call and ask your doc to check you. That is high for you, but I don't know if it's something to be concerned about. Wouldn't hurt to ask!
