seeing the wedding band post below made me think of things I have found in public
ONE: A week before my wedding I was at a club with some out of town friends and I found a Gucci (yes, real) in the bathroom and yes, I opened it and found an ID. Since my friend was the manager I handed it over to him and said I found it and there IS money and CCs in there.
Back at my table one girl asked why I didn't take the money? I said Karma is a *** and it wasn't mine to take!
They found the girl and she cried, because everything was left in there. But she bought me a drink ![]()
(but as far as Karma .... lol ... things still wnet bad at the Wedding)
Re: NBR: What have you found in public?
I found a credit card at the dr's office. I also found a wedding band at the gym once. Both I turned in immediately.
I do think karma helped me out because I lost my credit card at the mall this weekend. A nice family with a little baby found it and turned it right in. I was so thankful!
I would never take anything that wasn't mine, either. I would feel guilty for an eternity if I even thought about it.
I left my purse on the bench in the locker room at the gym at 5:00 (prime busy hour). I didn't realize it until I got home and when I went back, it was still there with everything inside. I was shocked.
haha ...... I have found quite a few of those in front of the neighbors house .... thank god he moved
Oh boy I seem to have a knack for finding electronics lol...my partying days were spent at a lot of clubs and I found phones and cameras constantly...even kicked a camera once it was under my feet. I always gave them to the bartender, I didn't feel right taking someone's memories (on a camera away).
Plus my phone got stolen when we gave the car to valet so I know how much that sucks!
When I was 10 I found a wallet with $20 in it and no ID. I turned it in at the market (it was in the parking lot) and they kept it for a week. When no one claimed it they gave it to me! I threw out the cigarettes (it was a cigarette purse thingy).
When I was in college I found a handle that turns on fire hydrants. I knew this because it was attached to a fire hydrant at the time. Anyway, it was about midnight and I got some friends together and we turned it on, there was a hose attached. We all got soaked within about 2 seconds and finally turned it off.
LMFAO! I am assuming it was a practical joke?
It looked like some kind of art project. I have no clue wtf it was...besides awesome.
LMFAO .... best thing I have heard all week!
That is quite the art project!
There are people a few towns over who have a full size elephant on their front law. It is the most awkward thing I've ever seen, they put lights on it in the winter.
When we were 12, my girlfriend and I found a bank deposit envelope in the alley next to the movie theater with $5,000.00 in it. Being 12 and stupid, we didn't turn it in. We kept it in her room and whenever we wanted a couple bucks for something lame, we would go get some from the stash.
I found a wedding band next to my car on the street and I put an add in the paper for it but no one claimed it. It said something like "All my love- Tom" on the inside. I think I still have it somewhere.
i found a bunch of credit cards and a hotel room key outside of a park last time dh and i were in san francisco.
the key was to a holiday inn and were were staying at a holiday inn so when we got back i asked the front desk guy if he could check and see if the name on the credit cards matched any people staying there. it didnt so i asked him to call the next closest holiday inn and yea the guy came down to our hotel to pick them up and was in shock that someone returned everything. he gave me 10bucks
5000.00$?!
My Wedding Bio!
Same here but at a football game.
Holy Crap!
I had a kid FIND ME at a Chucky Cheese once ... she ran to me crying and made me pick her up and said she lost her mommy ..... guess I looked friendly?
Another time at a store some lady lost her kid and he was standing there crying I went to help him and I had DH go get security ....
seriously ppl how the f do you lose a kid? really
I have gotten dirty looks from moms when I have tried to help their lost crying kid who apparently wasn't being watched well enough ... I'd get "he's fine I got it" type crap ....
"You're gonna miss this You're gonna want this back You're gonna wish these days hadn't gone by so fast..."
