How do people get chose for Jury Duty?

Every 2 years like clock work I get a freaking jury summons, this has been going on for 8 years.  Luckily I was able to get out of district court where they wanted me there every Monday for 12 weeks to see if I got chosen since I am a SAHM with no one to watch DS but they put in my letter this time they will be contacting me again in July 2010.  Does anyone know how they select potential jurors.

    you register to vote, and when your number comes up, you have to go in.

    I've never registered to vote & I've been called in twice. If you have a driver's license, you're subject to getting called up.

    When you register to vote you are also registering for Jury duty. The Lady at the DMV told me and my friend who is a SAHM still got called in took her newborn and 20moth old to the court house and they dismissed her and told her the same thing.
