Tonight the doula showed me a couple of different positions to encourage my baby to turn into position. [Baby is breech] One is lying on my back with something firm proping up my abdomen about a foot and the other is lying with my stomach facing down with my butt in the air. Has anyone tried either of these and had success? My baby has been in the same position for 8 weeks. I am in my 36th week and I'm becoming worried that the baby won't turn.
Re: I'm paranoid and need advice/reassurance
There is a website called "Spinning Babies." A girl on this board did it and it actually worked for her.
I know it's scary to think you'll need a c-section because of a breech baby, but c-sections aren't horrible and you will be able to get through whatever you have to. GL!!!
I am going to tell you something you don't want to hear.
I spent a boatload of money on acupuncture and chiropractics to try to get LO to turn. It did not happen.Turns out, she was comfy in there the way she was, had an enormous umbilical cord right near her head, and was 8lb12oz. She was never, ever going to turn.
By 36 weeks, the chances of them turning are getting slimmer by the day. I say do your excercises, but start to visualize yourself giving birth via c-section and give yourself some time to mourn the possibility of the vaginal birth experience. If she doesn't turn, you won't be dissapointed/unprepared, and if she does turn, it will be a happy surprise.

Agreed!
I tried moxibustion and chiropractic adjustments (my hubby is a chiropractor). We tried playing music on the lower part of my belly, putting butt up in the air, yoga, cold compress and at 37 weeks, a (painful) version in the hospital.
None worked and at first I was crushed I couldn't have my natural water birth but the c-section wasn't bad and my recovery was fast. The version was painful and my baby's heart rate plummeted but I don't regret trying the other methods. Good luck! I hope whatever happens is wonderful!
I did spinningbabies.com techniques & Harrison turned from transverse at 36 weeks.
I used the inversions & pelvic tilts.
