So how much caffiene is everybody actually drinking? My OBGYN said a little caffiene, a couple times a week, is okay, as long as I always stay under the 200mg limit. Usually, I have one can of Pepsi or similar soda once a week, so I'm definately under the limit. But I still feel like I'm doing something I shouldn't be. Today however, I'm craving a Starbucks Peppermint Mocha bad. This is when I can't wait to not be pregnant!
Re: The caffiene question
A grande peppermint mocha has 170 mg I believe, or venti as they use the same amount of shots. Just do it. I have and never feel bad. Or coffeemate makes a peppermint mocha creamer which tastes awesome, add that to some decaf at home if your really worried.
12 oz of coffee has WAY more caffeine than one can of soda. A can of soda has between 35-45 mg generally, and 8 oz coffee usually has 100, Starbucks has more. Tea usually has even less than soda.
Anyway, I drink caffeine but always keep it to about 100 mg a day. March of Dimes okays up to 200mg.
There are web sites that will tell you the caffeine in a drink.
My only advice re: that drink you want is that, if you haven't had any at all, most of those Starbucks drinks have lots more caff than a regular cup from home so it could be quite a jolt.
(read it. you know you want to.)

The chemicals used to decaffeinate coffee beans are a lot worse for you than the 150 mg of caffeine in a grande pumpkin spice latte.
This is what I do too. My OB said not to worry if it was every once in awhile.
Here is a great website that gives you the caffeine content on lots of drinks.

Moderation is key. Mayo docs say that a can of caffeinated beverages/day is OK. I try to avoid it, but sometimes on my night shifts I need a pick me up. I think I have had about a 24 pack of caffeinated pop during my pregnancy. What's funny, is that I didn't know that sunkist lemonade had caffeine, and I had bought a 12 pack of that. OOPS!
None, but that is just a personal decision. I am way too paranoid! It took us 2 years to finally get pregnant and I am constantly worried about the state of the baby. Although my worrying is probably just as harmful! I am a mess!
I might have a diet coke when we go out to eat, but otherwise any soda I have is decaffinated. I had de-caf tea when I had a cold, which I know still had caffiene but very little.
Isn't the big question about caffiene is whether or not it promotes miscarriage? Does that translate to early labor for us? Just wondering.
I havent had any since i got pregnant
