Is your DC a kisser/hugger?

Several times recently, DD has encountered hugger/kisser 2 yos. She is clearly taken aback by it and stands like a deer in headlights while they love on her. We're not around other 2 yos very often, so I'm wondering if this is "normal" or common.

And to answer my own question, no, DD does not hug/kiss other kids.

With me and DH, yes, all the time. But, no, she does not hug and kiss other kids. Well, sometimes she will hug or kiss her really close friends if us moms prompt "give each other a hug goodbye" but never just out of the blue on her own.

ummm she loves on us a lot but not other kids....she will hug back though

P is very much a hugged and kisser with DH and I. Every once in a while he will hug his friend Cooper when we are leaving the sitter but he does not go up and hug kids he does not know.

Only kids he really knows. A paramedic that works with my DH has a son thats only a day older than Dman and the boys are always hugging each other. Dman also hugs his cousins and sister but he doesn't really hug any other children.

Ben hugs and kisses on us, but he's more of a patter to other kids. He wants to pat their hands and their backs. I don't know why.

Yes, my DS is a kisser/hugger. Not sure if it does it to other kids but to us and family all the time.

Not so much. She occasionally will give a hug to her cousins if prompted, but that's only after she's refused and we're on our way out the door, and then it's more like she wants a hug from them, rather than giving a hug to them. At home, she's more likely to throw herself on DH and I than give us hugs, but I know she secretly loves cuddling

You have to ask for a kiss from him. So no he doesn't hug or kiss random people.

She'll give her good friends a nice hug/peck on the cheek now and then. But it's not an all out love attack -- it's gentle and they reciprocate nicely.

Maddie hates being touched by other kids, and doens't always like to give hugs n kisses to us....especially if shes cranky.

he will sometimes randomly give us kisses but not other kids.. i guess because we dont see other kids often... also if you ask him he will give you kisses and hugs..

With us, she's definitely a hugger and kisser. With other kids, it depends on her mood. I've seen her go up to kids she doesn't know and try to hug them and then not understand why they don't want to hug her back, poor girl. She once even ran up and gave a big smooch to a little boy at babyGap. It was embarrassing and cute at the same time.

Oh gosh, yes! My DS gives hugs and kisses to kids of all ages. He will walk up to a child and give them a hug or kiss. It's cute! No stranger anxiety at all...it's very scary.

DD is very affectionate with us/family/friends. I don't think she would give a hug/kiss to strangers though.

DS is super affectionate to friends and famiy. He is also very kissy and huggy to random kids. The 1st day we went to his "school" to meet the teachers, he gave a little girl a kiss.

Yes, most of the time. He's VERY huggy and kissy with us and close family. He practically attacks my Mom with hugs and kisses when she walks through the door. Just this afternoon we were at my sister's playing outside. I was holding my 5.5 month old niece. Cole kept making me kneel down so he could hug and kiss her. A few of the kids in his daycare class are huggers/kissers too. His two besties try to attack him when we walk into the classroom. They hug me too (at both drop off and pick up) and one has tried to give me a kiss a few times.

DS will hug and kiss family(mostly his sissy, me, DH, and my mom). He also will hug and kiss his cousins bye-bye but that is it. He does not hug/kiss on other kids.

If they asked for a kiss/hug from her, she'd prob do it, after staring at us for approval 1st. Although with us, she is:)

DD is always hugging/kissing DH, myself and especially Carly. She isn't so much a hugger of other kids (which she has done a few times) but mostly kids that we are around alot like neices/nephews. Everytime she sees them she wants to give them hugs.

DS kisses and hugs DH and I but not so much other kids.

We were recently at the park and he took a little girl (15 months) by her hand and lead her over to the leaves to play with him. He was also taking leaves out of her hair. That's about at affectionate as he gets with other kids.
