Gap quality???

So I went to the GAP @ lunch, did find myself a lovely pair of trousers and sweater. That is it though, most of their clothes were flimsy (I could honestly see through one pair of trousers), or made for some one 10 year younger than me. I honestly don't know what happened to the GAP I used to love. I think I am going to swing by ON after work to find some cords.

    I've always thought the Gap was way overpriced for the quality you get. It's really not much better than Old Navy, but at least Old Navy is about  half the price.

    I honestly agree, I was just not impressed. I loved my trousers but you go see through the pants. I did score yesterday with Ann Taylor Loft and Anthropolgie so that made me feel better.

    Honestly?  I think most chain stores have gone down the crapper in quality in the past few years.  I don't even think that BR or JCrew is any better than ON or Gap.  Thats fine for jeans, some sweaters, and weekend clothes but for work clothes I've mostly switched to Ann Taylor (not LOFT), Michael Kors, or RL.  Its just worth it to spend some $ and get some nice professional stuff. 

    Having said that - I did buy some cords at Gap last week that I'm in love with.

    Agreed, you really have to be choosy with what you buy there. And I'll never pay full price for anything there except jeans sometimes. A lot of their clothes stretch out and lose their shape quickly.

    I LOVE Gap for children's clothes.  And I typically only buy it once it's on sale...because it all goes on sale shortly after it's been released.  Having said that, I don't care much for Gap's clothes for myself.  I do love that some of their pants come in lengths (I always have to have shorter lengths) but a lot of their stuff is NMS.  And I think ON is even worse.  Super poor quality.  It's a shame that most places are producing and selling crap!
