Elmo tickle mittens= bad idea, IMO

when i first saw them i immediately thought, "Oh, perfect way for some creepy family member to have an excuse to "tickle" the kids."

Am I alone in this?

Re: Elmo tickle mittens= bad idea, IMO

  • Does someone who is going to do it in a "creepy" way really need an excuse?

  • No...i just think it would be a very easy way for someone to abuse them...if they are that way anyway, it would make it a heck of a lot easier for them to do something. I just think it's asking for trouble...but Im uptight and always imagine the worst

  • I don't really have any creepy family members so this would never occur to me.

  • It is sad that this was your immediate reaction.
  • Jesus... just because I bought my kid this toy doesn't make me some skeevy pervert. I am a parent who bought a fun toy for my child.

    This post pisses me off...

  • I've never really thought about them like that. I have no issues with anyone in my family tickling the kids.
  • It makes me sad, too, that that was what I thought.  I dont know anyone that would do that either...it was just my first thought...its really good to know that I am alone...hopefully that means the pervs that are out there wouldnt think of it either???
  • Personally, I'm just creeped out by disembodied hands at toys.  I swear they're going to walk across the floor by themselves like that hand on the Addams Family and strangle me in my sleepStick out tongue

But no, I never thought about them as a gateway to abuse -- they just creep me the heck out.

  • I have to say I never once considered this...and I still don't.  Kind of a strange reaction if you ask me!

    lol

I think it must be the world we live in, nothing shocks me anymore and I find I'm more suspicious of everything...I hate it

  • I thought that the point of this toy was for the kids to wear the hands and feel them wiggle... not for others to tickle the kids with them.  If I'm correct then this post is obsolete.
