  I should have posted about this a while back, since I'm one of the sponsors for the show.  From what I hear, this is the first time they are having this in San Diego.  The one in Las Vegas is well attended and big!  It's at the San Diego Convention center both Sat and Sun this weekend.

  If you are pregnant, be sure to be one of the first 50 women through the door to get over $250 in free goodies from the Bump!  I have a gift certificate for free maternity photos and a mounted print in all the bags.  In addition, the first 300 people through the door the first day will receive a babytime expo bag full of goodies. I'm not sure what they stuffed in those bags, but there are all kinds of maternity and baby vendors that will be showing.

  I'm not sure what I can post and what I can't . .. but events I think I will since they are fun! and benefit not only me but a lot of other vendors from the area.  Hope that's ok?

  I'll be going tomorrow, so maybe I'll come back and post how it was if you are interested.

  I went on Sunday and honestly it was a fun  to waste a few hours but I didn't walk away with much.  A goodie bag from babies r us with a couple bottles in it and a whole bunch of flyers.  I figure that I may have been overwhelmed and will go through all the cards I collected and pick which websites to check out again;)  I figure Saturday was better?!?

  Oops I meant to come back and talk about it, but was photographing a wedding all Sunday. Saturday afternoon was good - for being their first year doing this expo, they had great vendors, events, drawings, etc. I saw the bump bag and it looked really impressive! Then they showed me the stack of people who signed up for their mailing list and it was like 5 inches high, so Sat morning had a lot of people come by. There were lots of organic boutique type shops, stroller/car seat/diaper bag/nursury products, lactation consultants, holistic birth service, photographers, kids dance and cooking classes, etc. They had a mom based band playing, bouncy areas for kids, etc, etc. I'm hoping it grows over the years!

  I went to this, was just a little bummed that I didn't get there early enough to get the bag of 'stuff', but walked through it & got some info on some stuff that was pretty cool.... thought there was a lot more in the way for little girls, not enough boy stuff. Also my taste in baby schwag is not the norm so I don't ever plan on finding anything worth my $$$ when I go to these type of events.

  I went on that Sunday. It was kind of disappointing. There were not many vendors, and most of them were into the organic and "green" stuff. That to me translates intomore expensive stuff, not necessarily what moms going to an Expo are looking for.

  I got there early enough to get one of those Bump bags. There were a bunch of coupons and flyers, about 2-3 "certificates" for professional photography raging from $100-300 off (with purchase of package - Aha!). There were some Avent bottles and kit, a bib, and a mess cover for the high chair. It is a nice bag, but definitely not worth $250 of products.

  After registering for Babies"r"Us and walking around, we were gone. You could wak the entire thing in less than 45 minutes. While I will obviously not be needing them next year, I can only wish they improve and are able to atract bigger and better vendors.

   That's too bad some photog certs had a hidden twist.  I was told to not to have any obligation to buy on my coupon and that everyone else wouldn't have one either, so it was indeed for a free maternity session and 11x14 mounted print - no strings attached.  It doesn't have an expiration, so if you want to pass that onto a friend or relative feel free.

   I do hope there are many more vendors in the future as well - I hear the vegas one is huge and great to go to.  It would be nice to see San Diego have the same!

  Expos don't necessarily mean finding only deals or cheaper goods.  It's to shop vendors of a certain focus, see what new (and old) products are out there and then maybe get some specials for attending.
