Two Under 2

Worst part of the day for you?

DD is only 2 weeks old and so far, we've survived (barely)!  My DH wasn't able to take any time off from work and my mom has been coming to help a couple of days a week.  I've basically been on my own for the last week or so.

I have found that dinner time (5-7ish) is the worst time of the day for us!  DH leaves for work around 6:00am and doesn't get home until about 7:00pm.  I feel like I'm constantly checking the clock starting at 5:00.  It doesn't help that it gets dark here around 5:30 so the time seems to drag.  I'm in tears by the time he gets home from being so stressed out!

What is the worst part of the day for you with your 2 under 2?  How do you survive / cope?

  • Just read the post below about fussy time.  Looks like 5-7pm is the "witching hour" for our kids!

  • Definitely late afternoon, dinner and before bedtime 4-7 in my house.....UGH!

I just take it one day at a time.......

  • just reading your schedule stresses me out for you.  It makes me oh so thankful that my DH gets off "early" (home by 4).  I can't speak from any kind of experience, but once i return to work after my ML (im still preg with #2) the worst part will be the mornings.  I will have to get myself and my 2 kids ready and out of the house all by myself.  Thankfully I will have my husband around to help with dinner and bedtime, phew

  • Ohhhh you are not alone! I haven't been on here that much this year - just starting to get the hang of 2u2 but when I saw this I sooooo feel the same way! I hate the 5-7!

Not sure what goes on but making dinner for everyone doesn't help either!

Happy to see someone feels my pain! :  )

  • Same for us.  Our witching hour starts around 5 until they go to bed.

I actually dread when they all wake up from their afternoon naps because everyone wants mommy to hold them.  I have 3 kids and only 2 arms.

By the time my DH comes home I feel like I am going to explode.

    Someone is always screaming.

Most nights DH doesn't get home until 7 or so and we start our bedtime routine with the boys at 715.

I never drank a lot in my life, but I have started to!

I don't get much down time, but I come here or go on facebook.  Or even try to read for 5 minutes.

  • Definitely 5-7pm.

My grandmother always called this the Arsenic Hour!
