Did your peds give you a hard time? I am setting up interviews with docs now and I'm going to ask about their philosophies and practices but just curius what you ladies may have encountered...

Any ped you meet with will have experience talking with parents about this. We never encountered a NO....just a willingness to go along with our wishes. BUT, we do plan on fully vaccinating...just spreading them out. If you were wanting to omit some vaccines - they may have an issue. Even if you feel some resistance...you are in charge of your baby, they will never force you to vaccinate. Some will have you sign a form saying you refused certain vaccines at certain times.
Definitely ask your pedi. My office is strict about vaccines, I don't know the specific rules though. I do know that there are a couple moms in a local meetup group that have expressed on the message board that they needed to find new pedis because their offices required patients to be fully caught up by their second birthday or they were out of the practice.
We do a modified version of an alternative vaccine schedule. I'm more concerned with not giving DD too many vaccines at once rather than not giving her certain vaccines. My pedi has always been very supportive of it, and we regularly talk about how to stagger the vaccines so DD never gets more than two at once.
I could tell they thought I was a little "high maintenance" but were very good about working with us and making a special schedule for her/his vaccines. Now insurance companies make it obnoxious for you...you have to sign a waver for each shot you are refusing that they normally would have had up to that point AND you have to pay the co pay for each separate visit (which in my eyes is worth it)
I have a great vaccine schedule that I would be willing to share that you could show your ped. It worked well for us.

We are very similar. I don't have any specific alternative schedule, I researched all the vaccines and spoke with my pediatrician and decided on something that fit our child's needs. And each child is different.
I do recommend Delmar Pediatrics, we really love Dr. Brand but I think you'd like Dr. Larner too.
Re: For those who went the alt. vaccine schedule
Our pedi would be fine with it, however he gave us enough information from CHOP for us to choose the regular schedule.
The only thing we did different is Hep B, we waived it in the hospital and started it at 2 mos.
