Since birth my son will only nap while being worn (and after an extensive rocking, bouncing, patting, shushing routine) or sometimes while side-lying nursing (usually without unlatching).
This morning I nursed him laying down but he didn't fall asleep. So I turned on the hairdryer (big fan of the hairdryer in this house) and laid quietly with him. AND HE FELL ASLEEP! A bit later I got up, left the room to have a phone argument with my husband (
) , and came back and he was awake (probably the shouting - oops) but not crying. I put my hand on his belly and he fell back to sleep. He has been sleeping an hour and a half(!) without touching me!
This is HUGE. Bigger than huge. Monumental. If I can get this sweet boy to sleep on his own our lives are going to change so much. I'm so so so happy.
