3rd Trimester

I failed the 1 hr glucose test :(

My dr called today to let me know that my sugar levels from my 1 hr tet were too high, so now I have to go back in and take the three hour test :(. I'm pretty bummed because I don't have a history of diabetes in my family nor am I overweight. Anyone else fail the first test and then pass the second?? I need some encouragement!

Re: I failed the 1 hr glucose test :(

  • Me!!!!  Failed the first, passed the second, no problems since!  Dr. just told me to make sure I was eating five proteins a day so my blood sugar didn't spike...

  • Just an FYI that many women who have GD don't have a history, and aren't over weight. That's why it's a pregnancy issue and not regular diabetes.

This. I was working out 6x a week, had a great diet, wasn't overweight, had no family history, and still had GD. It's not the end of the world & because I had to watch my diet so closely I only gained about 15-17lbs total for my pregnancy. I was back to PP weight in less than a week.
