TTC after 35

Question for ladies who have had IUI's

Did you chart?  I'm scheduled for an IUI on my next cycle, which should be coming up in a week or so.  I'm wondering if it is worth charting?  I took this past month off because of a lap procedure--but am wondering if I should pick it back up next month for my IUI cycle.

What did you do?

Thanks!

Re: Question for ladies who have had IUI's

  • I did the first time and not the second. If you are going to be monitored, I would skip it. All it did was stress me out!

  • I did not, mostly because my Doctor didn't want me temping, her theory is that it just depresses you/stresses you out taking that temp every morning. I actually enjoy keeping track of what's going on with my body & didn't feel that it depresses me at all, but I followed directions and skipped it. ?I was monitored by the doctor with a couple of u/s before IUI so it definitely was not necessary for me to chart my temps. ??

  • I just had my first and I didn't temp. It seemed pointless since I was being monitored.  I like my sleep too, I didn't want to have to worry about getting up at the same time everyday.

  • I am charting. It is a personal preference I think! GL!

  • I did not.  They were monitoring me, so I figured it was not worth it.  One less thing to stress about.

    Good luck!

  • Yes, I have charted all 3 times.  For some reason it makes me feel like I am "doing more."

That being said, I don't think I will chart if we have any more IUIs.

  • My RE actually said not too...he also said to "stay off the internet"...as there is lots of info out there and our case is our case.

So no, I didn't doing anything other than daily b/w and u/s while being monitored (d9 - d14), after the b2b IUIs, all I'm doing in my prog-supps and waiting, oh and trying not to obsess (ha!).

TTC since July 2007 a year on our own, 7 IUIs spread out over 2 years, all BFN IVF attempt #1 - September - antagonist protocol, called off CD8 due too poor response IVF attempt #2 - November - called off on CD11 due to low estrogen IVF attempt #3 - started stims Jan 25th...converted/cancelled Jan 31st...SWITCHED BACK TO IVF Feb 3rd! ER Feb 7th...lets DO this! ET Feb 12th, Beta #1 141, Beta #2 356, u/s #1 hb 141 bpm, u/s at 7 weeks 1 day no hb, missed m/c. So sad. IVF #4 scheduled for June 2011, last chance, this is it
  • Thanks for the feedback!  Though it's been nice not temping this month, I think I might just start up again for the iui cycle even though I'm being monitored, just because I think I would feel better keeping track of something.  I'm not sure yet.

     Thanks again!
