I had an appt today, still haven't dropped and i'm not making any progress with dilation, so OB recommended a c-section. Its scheduled for tomorrow morning at 7:30, we have to get to the hospital at 5:30, I'm happy to have it first thing in the morning and get it over with nice and early.
Any c-section mama's out there have any suggestinons or recommendations for me and what to expect??

Goodluck! I had a scheduled c-sec, and it was a piece of cake. I am a big worry wort, and it was truly a breeze. I was most worried about the spinal anesthesia, because I hate needles and have a fear of being stabbed. I truly never even knew it happened.
Some advice I'll give is to not think about whats going on too much while they are opening you up, make sure that DH keeps you distracted. I could see where it would have been very easy for me to get panicked thinking about "OMG they are cutting me open!". But DH just kept talking to me about random stuff to keep my mind off of it.
If you have any specific questions I can give you the whole low down.
Just enjoy the day and be in the moment because it all goes by so fast!
Best of luck to you! Can't wait to hear all the news!
As for the c/s: Mine wasn't scheduled, but it wasn't that bad. The hardest part was the epi, and it was so good, I didn't even feel the pressure than everyone talks about! Don't try to be superwoman in the beginning - you may be feeling good at the time, but it may come back to haunt you later (lots of soreness). Use a pillow as much as possible in the beginning, and painkillers are your friends! A perk (TMI alert) - the "aftermath" of your uterus going back to normal isn't as bad as it would be if you had a VB - more like a typical AF (from comparing my experience with my friend's).
i was really happy with my c-section- as i told the one nurse 'i really didn't feel like pushing today' lol
my recovery was quick. i turned down all the pain meds the nurses and dr's tried pushing on me- seriously it got to be funny b/c it seemed they were really frustrated that i wanted no part of them. i just wasn't in any pain unless i moved- sitting up, turning over, getting in/out of bed- which, to me, is to be expected and didn't last long.
i recommend getting small step stool at home to get in and out of bed- that really helped!
as far as the actual surgery- i was awake, numb from the waist down. i shook like crazy from the waist up. i felt them cutting, pulling etc but no pain. i did get sick right afterword from a combo of the anesthesia and them moving me and i almost threw up on my son when they handed him to me later on!
mine was an emergency, i had been in L & D for about 5 hours (not making any progress) i had not eaten but had lots and lots of iv fluids.
i'm not sure what the differences will be with yours being scheduled, but i'd like to hear your story as i will most definitely opt for another if i ever do this again
good luck!! can't wait to hear how things go!
I had a c-section...but it was not scheduled. The best advice that the L&D nurse who had delivered twins via C-section gave me was to get out of the bed as soon as they ask you to, even if you do not feel like it and stand up straight. She also said to take the pain meds....I think that this is why I recovered from the C-section pretty quickly is I took the pain meds and was able to move around pretty well. I was also in the hospital for a week due to blood pressure issues and Evan's jaundice, so I was able to use the hospital bed to "help me". I did have to have my DH help me lift Evan in and out of the infant bed in the hospital, as I am short and the infant beds are high. Best of luck and look forward to hearing how the LO is!
