Rug for baby's room?

Do you have one?  We are trying to find one to pull everything together, but are having so much trouble finding anything that matches.  The colors of her room are pink, green and white and have elephants and paisley...so it's kinda hard to find a good match.  Where did you get yours?

Re: Rug for baby's room?

  • Nope...I can't find one I like.  I don't like animal on things for my baby.  His room is green, yellow, tan and brown.

  • No, but our baby's room has carpet.  Could you just choose one of the colors and get a rug that solid color?  Pink shouldn't be too hard to find.
  • We have carpet, but are just using a plain white fluffy rectangular rug that we already had to place in front of the changing table.

  • Restoration Hardware has a baby and kids line now, and their rugs are really cute and great quality.  GL!
I don't know what's up with my siggy and I am too lazy to figure it out.
  • I planned to get the rug in the same print as my bedding set.  But - then again I have not seen it in person yet.

  • We are planning on getting one from dashandalbert.com.

They get kind of pricey, but the cotton rugs are great colors and not quite as expensive. Good luck!

  • You could get a really cute shaped solid color one!!
  • Target has some really cute shaggy solid color rugs in pink and I think a green... Also, They used to have a Simply Shabby Chic rug in green, pink, and white... all soft tones.  It was really cute.

  • I just repurposed an area rug that I already had.  My nursery has hardwood floors and is Oklahoma State University and teddy bear theamed.  The colors are roughly orange, tan, and white.  The area rug is just simple tan and off white rectangles that divide the rug in half up and down and across.

I bet you could find one that was pink and white or green and white without too much trouble.

ETA:  I got it from Lowes originally.

  • I would probably only do one of the accent colors to anchor the room. It's hard to say which one without seeing pictures, but if everything else is very colorful, you might want the rug to only be one solid color.

  • I have been so effin' picky about a rug for our nursery for some reason. I have been eyeing up the shag ones from Target, the one in raspberry. The walls in our nursery are a bright spring green, and the bedding is green, pink, and other bright colors. So I figured a hot pink colored rug and curtains would be the way to go.

We do need a rug for sure though, since we have hardwood floors in there. The floor gets pretty chilly in the evenings and early mornings.

  • We have light greens, pinks, yellows and oranges and we found a carpet at Pottery Barn Kids that we love (daisy rug, I believe). It has flowers on it...not elephants, but it's great and soo comfy and squishy!
  • I got a really cute green/white striped one from target.  5x7 was $79.99.  Check the site, right now you can get free shipping!
  • We bought a large area rug in Ivory from Wal-mart.
  • We bought ours at Ikea. I would think that pink, green and white wouldn't be too hard to match- the other places where we found good options were: Target, PB Kids and Land of Nod.
  • I got pink carpet tiles from FLOR online. If one gets really messed up I can just replace that one tile.
    siggy should be here!

The Vera Bradley pattern "pink elephant" has all those elements in it - although it is retired, you might find something on ebay, and since it's retired, it won't be as pricey...

  • I love what I've seen people do with FLOR tiles. They are carpet tiles that stick to the floor and can be lifted and cleaned when necessary.
  • I think this was mentioned but pottery barn kids has some good solid colored rugs in the pink/green family.  I would say a solid color would be best if you have a lot of other busy details going on!

  • Have you checked JcPenny?

Thats where I got ours from and it wasn't all that expensive either.  I went under Baby, then bedding and accessories and youll find rugs under there. If I remember correctly, I think they had rugs with elephants on them!

  • We got ours from PBK, but it was a gift, and much pricier than what we would have gotten ourselves. image

  • Dash & Albert cotton striped rugs are awesome... and pretty cheap.
