Upstate NY Babies

follow up to Gas post

so I went to the OB yesterday and mentioned the pain..The doctor told me that it was NOT gas pain but it was round ligament pain- he said there is really nothing I could do- but relax and use a heating pad on my back for a little bit...they checked me and my cervix is closed and I'm hydrated...they did check for a possible bactierial infection to see if that was contributing but I had a clean bill of health...

I asked about what I could take for gas and they told me no gas-x just tums or maloxx...

but dear god- my ute is going to stretch for 10 more weeks- i can't imagine how I'm going to keep functioning

Re: follow up to Gas post

  • humm.. I'm fairly certain that I took gas-x while pregnant.. I also took a lot of maalox multisymptom that has the same active ingredient as gasx in it.. Its also the same thing as mylicon that is super safe for newborns.. so i don't see what would be the problem with it.

I hope you can keep your pains at bay mostly.

  • It may ease up a little bit. I have been having such terrible pains when I walk too much...making it basically impossible to go to the mall or grocery shopping by myself and definitely with DS. But I'm hoping it eases up a little bit...I have hope : )

And all pregnancies are different - so maybe next time you won't have this pain at all!!

In terms of gas...I would take a look at what you may be eating when the gas gets bad. Maybe if you avoid certain foods you can avoid taking the meds.
