About Buying Onesies ... Just My Opinion

I cannot tell you how many times I've thanked my lucky stars that I bought kimono onesies for my daughters.

Not only is it just easier, because you don't have to pull it down over their precious little heads ... but ...

You don't want to have to pull a soiled onesie over a baby's face and head. Trust me.  Whether it's full of the poo that escaped the diaper, or spit up or vomit that escaped their sweet little mouths, it's just simpler to unsnap a onesie than it is to pull it over their heads.

And you don't want to have to cut a onesie off your kid.  Just my opinion.

  • I know that I'm fortunate that it took this long, but we had our first blow-out yesterday.  Not fun!

Where do you get your kimono onesies?

  • Agreed, I loved them when she was tiny.  But now that it is cooler out I like her having her back covered...especially when her clothing is not staying put because rolling. AND, I  am having a hard time finding them in a larger size.

  • I agree!! He lives in those and sleep and play outfits.
  • i agree that they make life so much easier not having to pull over their heads, and that's why we made sure we had plenty, BUT...we both found them to be a pain in another sense, b/c there are so many snaps and it's hard to locate the side snaps that are on the INside, which made it equally, if not more, frustrating/time consuming when your'e dealing with a crying newborn and just want it to be over with.  that was our experience.

  • LOL SeaSoul!  I know they're not always the simplest, but I'd rather have a squirmy baby than one whose hair is covered in poo.  LOL!!!

I was lucky.  I got my kimono onesies at BabyStyle before they went bankrupt.  Got tons of them for DD #1 that luckily DD #2 can now wear.

SmudgesMom -- if you check on Amazon, you can find some that come in packs.

Ela knows all too well the pain of cutting a onesie off her baby!  Just the other day we had a couple of nasty leak-throughs, and I was so happy she was wearing a kimono onesie.  Sure, my carrier, her overalls, her stockings and her onesie were covered in poo.  But her head and hair were stink-free!

  • I actually never used them... Everyone said what you said, Ina, and I just never used them...

I guess it really depends on the kids, too. E never minded getting dressed and undressed and we rarely ever had blowouts...

  • my babies never cared about putting things over their heads- and i have never had a hard time getting a poop stained onsie off ---- i just pull it over the head from the front - and keep the back poopy area down in the back... no biggie to me.

I've pulled a few dirty onesies over her head but the shirt that was cut off was a whole new ball game....WOW! My dd has a huge head (97%tile) there was no way that poop covered onesie was getting over her head without poop getting allllll over her body, face and hair. We only used over the head onesies but in that case it did suck.
