hi ladies.... my quest for sanity and order continues.... actually maybe my quest for order is ruling out the posibility for sanity! :P
my girls are almost 5mos (finally got rid of my pg ticker today!!!) and we are "still" working on schedules. i recently started this 90 minute nap thingy, where you put baby down for a nap 90 minutes after she wakes. working quite well, but still watching to see patterns emerge.
anyhow, i know alot of you work in this order 1. feed baby, 2. activity, and 3. sleep. my girls seem to want to eat before they sleep. i'd like to get out of this routine... don't want them to need a feeding to be able to sleep. when they wake in the morning they don't want to eat right away...
what can i do to get them to eat upon waking???
Re: feeding schedules - how to "move" feedings?
I never was able to break that myself, and honestly I just didn't worry too much about it. They sort of naturally fell away from eating right before sleep as they got older and their nap schedules evolved. At that age, my two would sometimes need a nap as early as one hour after waking, it depended on when they woke.
By 6 months though, they were falling into the 2-3-4 pattern and then remain their today. Meaning, they take a nap two hours after getting up in the morning, and another three hours after they wake up from that nap. Then they are up four hours until bedtime.
However they still get milk roughly every three hours, so sometimes that means they are nursing or having a bottle right before a nap. I don't think it makes one iota of difference..they sleep just fine and I was able to do sleep training with no problem.
thank you!
