should i call the doctor?

so last night i was at my moms. we were eating chili when my mother starts to choke. at first i just hit her back hoping it would dislodge... well she started turning purple and was about to pass out. i began to perform the heimlich. i was having to lift her off the her knees to perform it, because she had fallen. it took several times for me to finally get the food up. my ribs have been sore, but i didnt really give it much thought at the time (my adrenaline was really pumping!). i feel fine otherwise but my mom thinks i should go get checked. would you??

    I'd get checked out if I were you. Just in case you have any minor injuries or anything, it would be better to know BEFORE you go into labor, just in case it complicates things. .

    how scary!  yeah I would probably call my doc just to ease my mind - I'm sure nothing is wrong :)  Way to save your mom's life!

    I guess to be on the safe side you can always call your doc and see what they recommend.  But if baby is still moving around and you're not having any symptoms, I wouldn't be too worried.  Thank goodness your mom is ok.  Scary!

    well i just have had no real problems during my pregnancy and everything seems the same. so i have just been thinking about it since talking to my mom... but yeah, it was hell doing that to my mom- i was scared to death!!
